Lonsdale St. Studio is excited to announce we have a new baby – and she’s the biggest and best studio space on offer in the city!

Due to the success of the studio in the last two years, Lonsdale St. Studio has expanded.

We have moved in and started construction on an all new studio space, now dubbed Studio A, which you can find at Unit 8 on the Ground Floor of 14 Lonsdale Street in Braddon, just below the existing studio spaces and Green Room upstairs.

Why have we got a new space?

Lonsdale St. Studio became overwhelmed with studio bookings last year, to the point where we were having to turn people away.

Due to the pandemic, a lot of events have gone virtual and we have found a lot of companies coming to us for live-streaming solutions for their virtual or hybrid events.

What’s even better is that the way the studio spaces have been set up, we have also been able to continue functioning through most COVID restrictions with non-contact studio shoots.

With increased demand and with a need to be able to host even bigger events, it just made sense to build a bigger space so we could cater for even more clients and more projects, no matter the scale.

The features

The new Studio A is 6m (W) x 10m (L), with high ceilings, much bigger than B and C. It boasts:

A black acoustic curtain with full studio coverage
Wrap-around white cyclorama
Multiple mobile and fixed TV displays for use with branding, slides, Zoom connectivity and fold-back.
8x remote camera inputs and 16x XLR inputs with return audio
Built-in lighting rigs across the studio ceiling with adjustable temperature and brightness across all lights
1000mbps NBN fibre-to-the-premises with fallback solutions for the optimum live-stream
Connectivity to a dedicated Master Control Room
A private entrance, ideal for dry-hire

Perfect for:

Large-scale video production shoots
Large-scale webinars and live-streams with big panels
Hybrid events, where you can utilise studio space for audience members
Large-scale photography shoots

Accessibility issues no more!

One issue with the studio upstairs was that due to the old building we are in, any guest with accessibility issues were unable to get to the First Floor. With the new Studio A on Ground Floor, there’s no longer this issue.

How does this work with the Green Room?

Thankfully, the new Studio A has it own foyer area that can be utilised for chilling out, working, getting ready and watching the production live on a TV display.

However, if you want to add the upstairs Green Room to your booking, you’re still very welcome to!

So, let’s clear things up.

The new studio space is Studio A – not to be mistaken with the old Studio A, which we are now calling B. And the old Studio B? You guessed it, it’s now Studio C.

Why did we do this? While it may be confusing at first, we felt that it was more straightforward to present our clients our studio offerings in order of size, scale and capabilities, so the new Studio A is out in front with the biggest space and the best features.

We are so excited to open this new space to the public.

You can find the new Studio A on the Ground Floor of the same address – 14 Lonsdale Street, Braddon. If you enter the building from the street, just turn to the right and you’ll see our branding.

The studio is available from April.
